If you’re ready to have an adventure at the Showcase of Citrus, keep reading. Below we’ll cover all the details you need to plan your trip, from the estate’s specific attractions to its hours of operation and location.

Let’s dive in.

Things to Do at Showcase of Citrus

Showcase of Citrus is a family 2,500-acre citrus farm that’s been in operation since 1989. You won’t want to miss out on any of the fun activities available at the estate, so we’ll discuss how you can participate in them below.

Monster Truck Tours

The farm’s Monster Truck Tours really sets this estate apart from others! Showcase of Citrus offers rides through its farm on 16’ tall monster trucks, allowing you to experience multiple ecosystems within the property, from woodland to pastures and even swampland.

On your tour, you’ll learn all about the estate’s history, as well as fun facts about Florida in general. While you learn, keep your eyes peeled for some incredible creatures, including zebra, alligators, and even water buffalo. Talk about a unique way to see the farm!

You can make reservations for a monster truck tour online or by calling 352-394-4377. Tours run each hour from 10AM to 4PM. During daylight savings time and summer months, you can also catch a tour at 5PM and 6PM.

Grab a Bite to Eat

You’ll no doubt work up a huge appetite after your monster truck tour. Fortunately, the farm offers U-Pick citrus during harvest season (November through May). You can come and pick your own fruit depending on what’s in season. Fruit is sold by the pound. Throughout the course of a year, the farm cultivates over 50 different types of citrus fruit!

As you embark on your fruit-picking adventure, be sure to wear closed-toe shoes. This will help protect your feet from Florida’s insect population, including fire ants.

Or if you aren’t quite up to picking your own food, you can head over to the Old Time Country Store. This market offers pre-picked citrus, baked goods, and even food trucks. If you’re particularly hungry, you can grab a hot meal before you head out to your next adventure.

Visit the Gem Mine and See Farm Animals

Next, you’ll want to head on over to the gem mine so you can collect some cool artifacts to take home with you. Purchase a three-, five-, or ten-pound bag of goodies to sift through in the trough of the gem mine. You can expect to find things like arrowheads, crystals, emeralds, amethysts, or shark teeth in each bag.

Finally, wrap up your visit with a trip to the farm. After picking up some feed at the Old Time Country Store, you can provide an afternoon snack to farm animals, including chickens, goats, pigs, and donkeys.

Host an Event at Showcase of Citrus

And the adventure doesn’t stop just because your visit is over! Plan a return visit with all your loved ones by hosting an event at Showcase of Citrus. In particular, you might consider a private monster truck tour, which costs $250 for groups of up to 20 people.

If you’re feeling particularly fond of the venue, you can host your own wedding here, too. The venue’s package starts at $2,000 and includes pavilion rental for four hours, a photographer, up to 24 bottles of champagne, and even a hayride entrance. You can purchase additional time for $300/hour, as well as other additional services and add-ons, such as decorations and alcohol packages.

Visitors can also celebrate birthday parties with up to 35 guests at Showcase of Citrus. The venue’s $275 package includes a monster truck tour and a covered picnic area for three hours. You can bring your own food and drink to serve as refreshments for your guests.

Additionally, Showcase of Citrus provides educational opportunities in the form of field trips. The farm can customize curriculums depending on the specific age range and needs of students. Plan to learn all about citrus farming, native wildlife, and Florida landscapes — all while riding in a monster truck! The price per student is $7.50 and the price per chaperone is $12.50.
